Kitchen Renovations in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge & Guelph

Not just new cabinets — a new room

Built for weeknight dinners and weekend entertaining

A kitchen has two jobs: feeding the family on a Tuesday and hosting a dinner party on Saturday. Every BRICON kitchen starts with how you actually cook, gather and move through the space. We measure the room, plan the layout, and work through storage, lighting, ventilation and appliance placement before anything is ordered. Then we help you choose cabinetry, countertops, backsplash and finishes that suit your home and your budget. You’ll see the full plan on paper, with lead times confirmed, before construction begins.

We’ve built kitchens that open to the rest of the house — walls taken out, ceilings vaulted, doorways widened, windows enlarged to bring in more light.

One team, start to finish.
Design, permits, plumbing, electrical, tile and finishing, all managed by BRICON. You deal with one team, not five trades.

Types of Kitchen Renovations We Build

Some kitchens need a refresh. Others need to be rethought from the walls out. We build both, and everything in between.

  • Cabinet, countertop and backsplash updates: a new look in the same footprint
  • Islands, pantries and storage: more counter space, more room to put things away
  • Basement and secondary kitchens: a full second kitchen or a kitchenette in a finished basement or in-law suite
  • Full kitchen redesigns: a new layout with new cabinetry, appliances, lighting and finishes
  • Open-concept kitchens: reworking walls so the kitchen connects to the dining and living areas or the backyard, with engineering where the structure requires it
  • Vaulted and raised ceilings: opening up the ceiling where the structure allows, with engineering and stamped drawings where they’re required
  • Kitchens as part of a bigger project: a new kitchen within a home addition
  • Commercial kitchens: staff kitchens, break rooms and kitchenettes for offices and shops

Why Choose BRICON Contracting Corporation?

Most of our new projects come from the same place: a neighbour who saw the work next door and called us. We don’t advertise results we can’t deliver, and we’d rather let a finished project speak for itself than make a promise we can’t back up. In 24 years we’ve completed 235+ projects, and 45% of our clients come back to us for their next one. Every kitchen renovation is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.

Our Construction Manager, Bryan Klomp, is a Red Seal Certified General Carpenter with over two decades in the trades. Our Project Estimator & Coordinator, Olayemi Adesina, holds a Bachelor of Technology in Architecture and a Distinction in Construction Management, and is completing her CAPM certification. Every project we manage is fully permitted and inspected where required, backed by $5,000,000 in liability insurance and full WSIB coverage — we’re a turnkey operation, so you don’t have to coordinate any of it yourself. BRICON Contracting Corporation carries full WSIB coverage for all employees and sub-trades. Every project we manage is fully permitted and inspected — we file for permits, coordinate engineering and stamped drawings, and manage plumbing, electrical, and building inspections from start to finish. We are a turnkey operation. You don’t have to coordinate any of it.

Our Process

Every kitchen renovation starts with a walk-through of your home — not a sales pitch. We look at your current layout, your plumbing and how the room gets used day to day, then talk through what’s possible within your budget.

1. Design & Planning
We turn what we heard at the walk-through into a layout and a plan on paper before anything gets ordered.

2. Permits
If the work moves plumbing or changes walls, we handle the permits and inspections so you don’t have to.

3. Material Selection
You choose tile, fixtures, vanities and finishes with our guidance, and we confirm lead times upfront so nothing holds up the build.

4. Protect Your Home Before & During Construction
We seal off the work area, protect floors and hallways, and keep dust out of the rest of your house. We’ll also talk through how you’ll manage meals while the kitchen is out of service.

5. Construction
Our crew works to a schedule you’ve seen in advance, and you’ll know who’s in your home each day.

6. Final Walkthrough
We’re not finished until you’ve walked the completed kitchen with us and everything on your list has been addressed.

Our Kitchen Projects

Kitchen Relocation In Breslau

We moved this kitchen to the back of the house, removing the original cinder block exterior wall and rebuilding a half-flat ceiling as one continuous vault. It’s finished with white shaker cabinets and a Celeste Blue island topped with a single 11-foot slab of quartz.

Back room of the house during renovation, with a partly vaulted ceiling, a wall of windows, a garden door and floor protection down.

Before

After

Kitchen Update In Waterloo

Cream cabinets and busy granite gave way to white shaker cabinets, a black quartz island and a full-height quartz backsplash. New pendant lighting brightens the whole room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge or Guelph?

It depends on the size of the kitchen, the scope of the work, and the cabinetry, countertops and appliances you choose. A cabinet and countertop update sits at the lower end, while a full redesign with a new layout, custom cabinetry and structural changes costs more. We’ll walk through your kitchen and give you a clear, itemized estimate before any work begins.

It depends on the scope. Replacing cabinets, countertops and fixtures in the same locations usually doesn’t need one. Removing or moving walls, moving plumbing or adding electrical circuits may. We’ll confirm what your project needs and handle the permits and inspections.

Timelines depend on scope and material lead times. A cabinet and countertop update moves faster than a full gut and new layout. We’ll give you a realistic schedule upfront and keep you updated throughout.

For part of the project, yes. We’ll talk through how you’ll manage meals before work starts, and plan the schedule to keep the disruption as short as possible.

Often, yes. It depends on whether the wall is load-bearing and what runs through it, such as plumbing, wiring or ductwork. We check during the walk-through and coordinate engineering where it’s required, before anything is designed.

Often, yes. Larger openings need to be framed and supported properly, so we confirm what your home’s structure allows during the walk-through. Many of our clients want the kitchen to connect to the backyard, and we design for that.

We handle it. BRICON manages every trade on your kitchen, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, cabinetry installation and finishing carpentry, and schedules them in the right order so there’s no waiting between stages. We also arrange the permits and inspections. You have one point of contact from the first walk-through to the final walkthrough.

Yes. We guide you through cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, appliances and lighting so the room works together and suits the rest of your home.

Yes. Every project we complete is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty. If something’s not right, we make it right.

We’ve been renovating homes across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph for 24 years, and our reputation is built on referrals — neighbours who saw the finished work and called us. We manage the whole job with one team, so you’re not coordinating trades yourself.
